BlackBerry (BBRY) is reporting quarterly results on March 31. The beleaguered company, best known for blowing its lead in the smartphone space when Apple (AAPL), and then Samsung (SSNLF), enter the markets circa 2007 may offer hope.Software developments in BES, the mobile device management solution, continued in the quarter. BBRY updated the 12.5.xxx release with a big refresh to 12.6, or BES UEM.DTEK70 launched last month in February:IT Admins will give BlackBerry props for simplifying the Android activation on BES UEM. Activations of Apple iOS devices on BES UEM are also easier. The “one stop shop” for managing devices of any kind – including Microsoft’s Windows Phone – should translate to double-digit software revenue growth this quarter.DTEK Rules…To NobodyLate to the party, DTEK devices, solidly built from a hardware perspective and secure and lean on a software level, will not add to revenue. This is unfortunate. Unless its partner, TCL, deals exclusively with DTEK Androids instead of DTEK and Alcatel phones, IP revenue will not add meaningfully to BBRY’s bottom line.How does it work?
